Why is it that the best photos are the unplanned ones? The candid ones always capture my heart. I have a bizillion photos of my boys. Almost all of them are candid moments, even when I try to take portraits of them, its the candid ones that I keep coming back to.
When this photo was taken, albiet not today, I wasn't "planning" on taking a picture of my youngest son. I was in the foyer putting my camera away, when he started chasing our cat, Fantasia. He caught her, much to her dismay. (I don't think she really likes him) Then he sees my camera in hand, and gleefully shouts, "CHEEEESSSSEEE". So I had to do it. I had to get that cute smile. It was a smile of sheer accomplishment. He did, afterall, just catch the cat, and this time, he didn't get scratched.
I can't say that I blame the cat for the things she does to him. He will pull her tail, poke her eyes, try to see if he can stretch her whiskers. I mean, really folks, that's alot of torment. She's really good with him, but there are times when she has had enough. She lets him know, with a deep grumbly meow, you know the kind. Then, if he doesn't retreat, she will pap him, not hard really, but just enough to get his attention. Infact, she has only really scratched him, to leave a mark, once. She knows he is a baby, (she has been thru this before)but there are times that she just wants to be left alone.
So anyway, here is my little guy, and my loyal friend, Fantasia. She will grow to love him, just the way she does the Entomologist.... just not any time soon.
