After spending exactly two hours in the doctors office getting the baby's 12 month vaccinations, and added flu shot, we were finally headed home. Traffic was thick, as it was the 5 o'clock rush hour and everyone was ending their day. I certainly do not miss the hustle and bustle of the daily 9 to 5. We were listening to our favorite Christmas CD, and singing along. A car pulled beside us, with blaring techno pop. Now, normally this would have got me all in a tissy, only because I think it is rude to sit at a traffic light with your music as loud as it will go. Today was different. I wasn't mad, actually, I was thankful, as it gave me a few minutes to think about what I was really thankful for, these days.

I am thankful that I married a wonderful man, and have been blessed to love him for almost 13 years. I am thankful that he is a hard worker, and still honors our origninal plan of my staying home to raise the children, no matter how tight times may become. I am thankful that we have two beautiful and healthy children. I am thankful for our modest home, in a safe neighborhood. I am thankful for sidewalk chalk, and our large driveway. I am thankful for my ears, so that I can hear the laughter of my children, and for arms to recieve their hugs. I am thankful to be tired at the end of my days, because it means I have been entertained by my children.

I am thankful for many things. Today, I am thankful for that person and his techno pop. I am thankful that he gave me a few minutes to focus on what I am thankful to have, instead of worrying about what I do not.
