Arlo Guthrie on April 12, 2014, returned to Chico, California, with his wit, whimsy, and a suitcase full of observational musical tales, as part of the Woody 100 Tour: Here Come the Kids. The performance honored Guthrie’s legendary father, Woody Guthrie, the grassroots balladeer who roamed the back roads of America, providing a hopeful voice to the downtrodden during the Dust Bowl days of the Great Depression and beyond. Arlo did plenty of his dad's material on this night, including "Do Re Me," "This Land is Your Land," and "My Peace." He also threw in his own stuff, including "Coming into Los Angeles," and his biggest hit, the Steve Goodman-penned "City of New Orleans," as well as songs by such heritage artists as Leadbelly and Ramblin' Jack Elliott.
