Very beautifully done. A poem that addresses the issue of comfort/politeness/desire - now we need something that discusses the helpless uselessness of the other arm, when two people snuggle together. John

Here we are now.The room, like yourself dimly aware of my presence.The covers dogeared for expected company.And your lithe form curled into a question mark.Your arms not yet strapped around the pillow bale as if it was your firstborn.So you must have an eardoor open by a crack.

I want to pounce upon your chest with all fours.For badness.Because I cannot get enough of your attention.I know that you are hopelessly in love with me.And that any anger will dissolve in a second.We could wrestle and play peekaboo with the ruffled sheets.

But the hour has grown weary.And your sighs from the day weigh very heavy.The window draft has an uncomortable crispness.Even your pink toes, which I cannot resist nibbling have sought refuge into the snowy silken folds.

There is no choice.I will have to ambush you, my darling.Tickle you with a whisker purr along the nape of your neck.A little nudge and lick by the right ear.Always void of perfume.Because it's reserved for my secret goodnight kiss.That cavenest that you have rolled back for me is too inviting.It must be trap.You are very clever.But not as devious as I.

"Aha!" The blanket is untucked at the foot of the bed.Dragging halfway to the floor like a drooling lip.I could tunnel my way into comfort.Stalking the legs of my prey.The nook behind your knees as the perfect corner tent.Safe only when you are too exhausted to be restless.A risky proposition.

Hopping onto the softness.It is time for a reconnaisance at the headlands.Gingerly stepping through your candy licorice hair.My motoring breath sniffing your eyelids. "Are you asleep? Are you sure? Not quite!"You know fair well that it is past cat curfew.And the glaring light must be silenced.You will have to get up.Let me check again to see if you are alive.My moist nose twitching near yours."Meow!!!"

"Alright!Alright..." yawns your surrendering hand raised to flick the switch.As my purring fluff cuddles deeply by your warm beating heart.
