Form and content are perfectly matched here to express the concept of modesty. You wrap up a nude body in both arms, then greatly underexpose the image, and finally cover it up with a layer of noise. You are creating erotic tension by displaying the nude figure on one hand, yet hiding it three times over on the other. It is an image that speaks not so much of being lost in thought, but instead is based on the incongruity of using a figure study to express modesty and shyness. (The model is lovely, and I think I recognize her from another image!) An expressive image, Ana. It is abstract (the darkness and noise) incongruous (as described) and expresses the human values of modesty and shyness. It also expresses ambivalence. As our friend Marisa would say, this image is a contradiction! You seem to want very much to express your sensuality and sexuality yet at the same time will go to great lengths to hide it. And that is what makes this image so special.
