Snowmageddon I & II - Washington's Blizzards of 2010
We have been snowed in since Friday night, power went out at 10 pm Friday, as of Sunday noon it hadn't come back on. Temperature in the house is down to 50 degrees. Our street hadn't been touched by a plow. These pictures are mainly from our front door and through various windows. I'm posting them from my sister's house to which a friend brought us in his 4WD truck shortly before noon Sunday.
UPDATE: Power was restored early Monday morning and we returned home. Now (Wednesday, February 10 around noon) it's snowing hard again - about 8" so far, more expected. I did manage to get downtown yesterday. I've added a few shots at the bottom of the page from around my office yesterday (Feb. 9) and around home this morning (Feb. 10).

Snow can be pretty to look at and fun to play in, but it can also be dangerous. In many areas of the country, winters bring heavy snowfall and very cold temperatures. The heavy snow can block roads and cause power lines to fall down. The cold temperatures can be dangerous if you are not dressed correctly. And a layer of ice on surfaces can make travel impossible. How would you go to work if these are with you whenever it snows? Well, prepare for your necessities. The horrible snow storm on the East Coast has left many people stranded, unable to get to work, and some have been left without power they're calling it Snowmageddon. It depends on the areas, but some people may be able to start telecommuting , if they have a job that allows it.
