This row of terrace houses dates back to the mid-1880's. Originally created to house employees of the then-booming blue metal industry around Kiama, they remained in residential use until 1975 when it was decided to restore them. That work was completed in 1979. The buildings now house a range of boutique businesses; some eateries (as is obvious from the first building), some souvenir stores, and so on.
Update, January 2022: The Ritzy Gritz is sadly no longer with us. Google Maps Street View shows it still being there in June 2017, but when the Google Van went past in July 2018 there was a "For Lease" sign out the front. It now appears to be home to a fashion and cosmetics retailer.
