An interesting start to 2023; first I couldn't get into gear for photography, but then I was too busy for it. Let's do a time warp back to the 2017 collection to keep filling the gaps in this gallery (such gaps as there were at the start of 2023, anyway).
It looks like at the start of 2017 I was doing a shot each Saturday. Okay, it's not a PAD, but at least it's a PAW. That was not to last, of course, but it's better than the start of 2023 so far. (But to be fair, early morning exercise has taken priority over early morning photo shoots.)
Regular viewers will be well aware of my affinity for a late Australian artist named Jeffrey Smart. His signature images have the sharp lines of the man-made, contrasting with the flowing lines of nature (in particular dark and cloudy skies), and the limited appearance of people (or their complete absence). They may also be aware of my affinity for Edward Hopper, in particular his contrast between man-made light and artificial light.
Well hey lookee, boys and girls, look what I just found! I don't think there is any question about whether those style influences affected me in shooting this shot. It has taken almost 6 years for it to get into this gallery, but it's finally here.
