As winters go, this has been a relatively mild one. Yes, I've been wearing my heavy jacket to work in the wee small, but by lunch time the temperatures have mostly been accommodating for shirt sleeves.
But the season doesn't let you forget that it's there. On this Saturday (a week ago from today's posting) there was an icy and gusty wind at play. This stirred up some waves as well as making the tops of them fragment into a spray of vapour (a.k.a. spindrift) as they headed for the shore. This made for a rather interesting light show with the warm light of the sun passing through the spray.
As we can see here, there were at least a few die hard surfers whose religion would not be denied by a mere icy blast of wind.
