Recently I experimented with documenting part of a local streetscape with a pano. This tempted me to wonder how well a 360 degree pano would work out as an attempt to grab great chunks of imagery in a single shot.
As it turned out, not that badly. However... the dirty little secret is that this combination of shots (a stitch of 8 images) benefited from the ability of the sky and grass in the missing parts of the image to be content-aware filled. That would be more difficult if not actually impossible to do with a streetscape which lacked the required level of uniformity.
In fact this is a tad more than 360 degrees as you'll see the blue pumping system block both on the left of the shot and on the far right.
