It's strange where chance can take you.
I went out at lunch time for a walk and to make a completely unnecessary trip of one station on the Light Rail. (As mentioned in last year's gallery, this provides me with the ability to reduce my transport cost each week.) The trip is boring and tedious. But just as I was walking to the station, a bus came along. So I decided to use that for my trip instead and rode it down to Johnston's Bay.
I did a few shots including HDR brackets, and I quite liked the results with the new 9-18. In this one I was actually shooting the building way wide to see what sort of back-leaning distortion I'd get on it when a runner came along. I liked his distinctive gait and the sharpness of the shadow thrown beneath him. The day was bright and sunny but thankfully not excessively hot so here for once we see a moderate summer's day in Sydney. Consequently I've stacked the HDRs into the "later" pile and have gonged this as my PESO for today.
