Meh, not quite what I was aiming for. I actually wanted the sun to be shining through the drop but it was recalcitrantly hiding behind a cloud bank and would not come out.
Also, although I did get a "lens effect" on the drop I think that f/3.2 was a tad too shallow for this. Although I didn't think so at the time it would have been better with more of the branch within the DOF.
It does look a bit better to me when it's reduced to 1000 pixels, but it's still not one of my better shots.
Oh well, something to try again in the future.
On other matters... I heard this morning that Alan Rickman died. That blows chunks. I can't recall ever seeing him give a bad performance. Of course he was at his best when he was bad. (Except for Galaxy Quest, where of course he was good, yet still great.)
I think that the satirical web site "The Onion" summed up his screen persona in a single fake headline, in the way that The Onion can do when it's at its best:
"Alan Rickman Ends Pizza Delivery Order With Ominous 'So Be It'."
The disturbing thing is that I can actually imagine it happening... and him smiling that smile of his afterwards.
Rest in peace, Mr. Rickman, you've played your parts well.
