20150305_006154 Barangaroo, By The Dawn's Early Light (Thu 05 Mar)

Barangaroo South, Darling Harbour

I've been documenting the construction of this site over the last few months, but I'm not going to treat this image as being part of that series.

I've been getting into work early over the last few days for various reasons and noticed some interesting light opportunities at various times. Of course, it would be considerably easier if I had my tripod with me, but I'm not going to lug that onto the train. Consequently, handheld would have to do.

Originally I envisaged the red warning lights on the cranes hovering around the construction site like UFOs around a mothership. However by the time I reached my shooting site the Sun was too close to the horizon and was giving off too much light to conceal the cranes' presence. So I went with them against the backdrop of the rising Sun, combined with the water reflections of the construction site.

Impressive work - you've got a steady hand . I like the blue/gold/green colour combination and the reflections of course.

Beautifully exposed. Great reflections in the water. The cityscape with the cranes adds a sense of vibrancy. V
