20150118_2405 Heat Oppression (Sun 18 Jan)

At Home, Illawarra, NSW

I'll bet that you were expecting to see another shot with my new toy, weren't you? And you probably would have too, had I not driven to a beach about 30 minutes from here, lined up a beautiful morning light shot with lots of reach, and... saw "No Card" flashing.

It was still sitting in the card reader attached to the computer. ("To buy... spare memory card.")

No matter, plenty more opportunities I'm sure.

It's going to be a much cooler day, says the Weather bureau. Quite mild, they sez. And it is too, if you happen to be in a breeze. If you are in the direct sun with no breeze blowing, however, as I was when I took this set of shots, you instead start roasting and have sweat pouring off you within literally minutes.

The dandelions are putting on a brave face, but even they are wilting toward the "you could fry an egg on it" concrete. Although if you have a good enough imagination, the one on the right has collapsed already and the one on the left looks frantically upon its fallen comrade.

I hate when that happens!! This shot is very well detailed. Wilting in the summer sun. V

I like it!

Poor thing, it definitely is wilting. I would be soooo mad if I did that….usually it's the battery which goes on me.

No Card only happens when you run into the perfect shot with perfect light! I think you are right there is definitely a dandelion health check going on.

No Cards in hand when time to shoot is a dreaded nightmare of mine. I once shot with no card and after wanting to quit photography all together I put the NO SD lock on my shutter release (nikon feature) and while I may be somewhere with no card, at least I am not pretending to take pics I'll never see. Sorry friend....
