On this day I went out looking for another addition to my "Scenes From An Ordinary Lunchtime" series. I took a range of different shots, but settled on this one because I liked the framing of the central subject through the bollards, and the lack of background distraction.
Oddly, though, had things panned out slightly differently I wouldn't have used this one. As I took this the ferry Scarborough was picking up and setting down passengers off to the left of the frame. I pulled back to so some wider angled shots as well and the one that I would have used had her reading quietly on the right of frame in contrast to the bustle of the unloading operations on the left. The problem is that some joggers were running behind her at that time and visually drowned her out of the frame. Consequently I opted for this one of her alone where she stands out against the black of the Welcome Wall behind.
