Yes, we have one too, and not just on Monopoly boards. Only ours is a lot seedier than the London one, even though the Monopoly one is on the cheapest row of the board.

Our Kings Cross is or was (depends who you ask) Sydney's Red Light district. Drugs, sex, rock and roll, all night drinking barns, violent assaults, it's all here if that's your thing.

What was I doing here?

Since the timetable restructure last year most of our trains start from Bondi Junction, the terminus of the Eastern Suburbs line. If you want a seat, indeed if you even want to get on the trains, you're well advised to make your way as far down that line as you can before your train arrives.

On this particular afternoon I could only make it as far back as Kings Cross. The temptation to go exploring upstairs was pretty easy to resist, though I imagine that it would be a lot quieter in the late afternoon than at night.
