Ah, I remember this day as if it was yesterday. Something had screwed up the train network again. No idea what; a gnome breaking wind alongside the Blue Mountains line is usually enough to do it, but whatever it was, we waited. And waited. And waited.

And so the crowd grew. And grew. And grew.

One does not catch the peak hour train on my line unless you have no choice and the patience to impersonate a sardine until you reach Sutherland. So as the time ticked away I finally decided "sod it" and went back into town to have dinner at the Mexican place (nachos, Hola!) and wait until the lines were cleared, then caught the late train home.
