Wow. As with the previous shot, I'm posting this in October. I can't believe that the event represented in this shot is more than half a year in the past. Such is the passage of time.
At my instigation we decided to go along to a role-playing dinner game called "How to Host a Murder". Some of the people had obviously done this sort of thing before and were well-dressed for their roles. My preparation left something to be desired though my fellow homicidal suspect made much more of an effort.
In any case, we weren't assigned roles but rather chose our sitting positions ourselves and found our character biographies in front of us. As you can see my name was Roger SB Astird. Or, if you say it out loud, Roger's Bastard. You are not required to agree with the assessment.
I don't know whether the same character is the murderer every time this particular permutation of the game is played but in any case the organisation left a little bit to be desired. Those little books contain the entire game play including, on the last page, whether or not you committed the murder. The only thing to stop you from turning to that is the honour principle and I'm betting that not everyone observed it. Or, if the same character always commits the crime, that not everyone had restrained their Googling fingers. The instructions were not always clear, nor was the layout of the murder scene, maps on the wall notwithstanding.
Regardless, I found it to be an enjoyable night and wouldn't mind having another crack at such a night at some point in the future.
