In an ideal world I would be walking all the way to the station each afternoon to try to boost my kilojoule consumption. And bear in mind we're not talking a hundred metres down the road, it's about 3 km, and that's with a backpack containing two notebook computers, an Olympus OMD E-M1, a Kindle and various other paraphernalia. In earlier "lives" I have carried far more over much greater distances, but the point, that is not it. (For one thing back then it mattered not how sweaty I got whereas in the polite company of a (mostly) civilised railway carriage, it does.)
No, the point is that to make my train I'd have to leave work unreasonably early. So I compromise; catch the Light Rail (which I dislike greatly as regular viewers / readers may know) to get me to within striking distance of the station, then hop out and walk the rest of the way.
Today I hopped out at the stop which used to serve the old Exhibition Centre that I mentioned in yesterday's shot. And as I did so I saw this exceedingly urban view of skyscraping buildings in the city skyline beyond, and the construction cranes in the foreground with the lights of the light rail station for good measure.
