I'm spending most of my time working on the new budgeting system at the moment. On this particular Wednesday I was working from home so that I could use my own "hand-tooled to be awesome" hardware instead of the gutless cookie cutter boxes that we're supplied with at the office. That meant no opportunity to wander out into the city to take a shot during lunch time. And since it was raining, limited opportunities around home too.
I decided to make the best of it and shoot some of the flowers that were around the garden. This seems to have been the one which showed off the raindrops best.

Update, August 2024. "Working on a new budgeting system" seems to appear every bloody year in my galleries. If I were to ever die, it would probably be carved on my tombstone.
When I posted this I had no idea what it was, but the Android app LeafSnap identified it. It's a type of iris, or possibly a lily, because botanists just fill buckets with random names, stir in a 44 gallon drum of Latin, and throw them at their textbooks. Specifically it's a Dietes grandiflora, commonly named fortnight lily, large wild iris, African iris or fairy iris, take your pick.
For some reason I had set this as the representative image of my 2014 PAD gallery on PBase and I can't think why. I do actually like it as a full sized image where you can see the details of the drops, but it's a bit uninspiring as a thumbnail.
