The National Maritime Museum is currently holding an exhibition on the Vikings; one which attempts to replace the mythology with reality. I haven't yet had a chance to go in to see it.
However outside we see a replica of a Viking long ship. I'm not sure how true to life this one is. (In particular, the rowing positions don't seem to be particularly practical and I doubt that the Vikings relied on wind alone.) Perhaps I will be more enlightened after I have seen the exhibition.
Not that there is any way on earth that I would care to go out to sea in one of those things. Especially somewhere like the North Sea. It would be bad enough to go out there on a CVN. Which some people are crazy enough to do.
Certainly nobody is going to have sailed one of those down to this part of the world back in their day.
