It's the 99th day of 2011 today. I'll bet that you wonder where all of those went to, don't you?
Rewind to Tuesday 27 April 2010 (image 100427_194954_8251 in my 2010 PAD gallery). I had completed 100 days of continuous PADing for the first, and then only, time. (That also wasn't the 100th day of the year, but I only started PADing in mid January 2010.)
In the caption for that image I reflected on the significance of "the hundred days" in historical assessments. As I said then, the most famous hundred days was the one following Napoleon's escape from Elba, which is why I chose a Napoleonic theme for that shot.
As, indeed, I am for this shot. My current unbroken sequence of PADs began on 31 December 2010. This is therefore my 100th day, unbroken. (I intentionally missed the 30th to keep my total for that year to 212.)
When I hit 100 last year I decided to call it quits and reduce to taking a photo most days, mainly because lugging the 40D around every day just wasn't doing it for me any more. However that was before I had the E-P1. The next hundred days for my PADs will be Monday 18 July, the gods permitting.
And I'll lay you odds that that will be here sooner than you think too.
