"Are you barkin' to me? Are yoooou, barkin' to meee? Well, I don't see anybody else here that you could be barkin' to, you must be barkin' to ME!"
I have no idea why, but for some reason Lilly never photographs according to her personality. Which is of course {jumpy-jumpy-oh-you're-giving-me-attention-I'm-so-happy-to-see-you-because-I-love-attention-kissy-kissy!!!}.
Of course it's possible that this is like the Hi-Def camera in 30 Rock, which shows people as they see themselves rather than as they are. In Lilly's case, the big, tough (if somewhat high-pitched but I doubt that she hears it that way) bark that she gives when she sees or hears other dogs (birds, insects, whatever) may be reflected in this shot.
(Edit December 2023: Unfortunately Lilly died earlier this year; on 12 February 2023, a little under 12 years after this shot was taken. As often happens, those 12 years passed without noticing that they were. Lilly was there through them... until she wasn't. Rest in peace, little one.)
