110320_070703_15833 Waiting For The Launch That Never Came (Sun 20 Mar 11)

Parkes Place, Parkes (Canberra), ACT

An onlooker watches as an RAAF airman unpacks the RAAF's promotional hot air balloon. As with all of the other balloons that day that one was destined not to fly, but it was intended to provide a tethered lift for children attending the show.

Unfortunately that didn't quite go to plan either as later images in the gallery will show.
