Normally this probably wouldn't be one that I'd include because it's rather less than "optically immaculate"; certainly there's a bit of flare happening. But in this case, that's the point; that's really a pretty good idea of what it looked like this morning. The surf had churned up the water so much that by this time it was like someone had dropped a diffracting veil over the top of the waves and you were getting all sorts of odd optical effects, even with the naked eye.
In the foreground we have a beachcomber tourist who examines something found on the beach, watched by one seagull and ignored by another.
Addendum: My personal opinion is that Facebook is a sociopathic organisation that steals other peoples' intellectual property (including the images in this gallery) despite being explicitly denied permission to do so. Facebook going out of business would IMO be a net gain for humanity.
