This is the left hand (and therefore probably female) member of a pair of Chinese guardian lions at one of the entrances to the Tianjin Chinese Gardens in Spring Street Melbourne, just near the entrance to Parliament Station.
There are two pairs occupying different entrances; the ones to the south appear to be made of bronze. This pair is made of Sichuan white marble. It was apparently a gift from the Chinese city of Tianjin, a coastal city in northern China, which has been twinned with Melbourne.
The symbol under her paw is supposed to be a cub, which represents the spiritual aspect of life. In this shot she almost looks a little sad. Whereas if we look at her and her partner from the side... (see image 6865).
Addendum: My personal opinion is that Facebook is a sociopathic organisation that steals other peoples' intellectual property (including the images in this gallery) despite being explicitly denied permission to do so.
