Actually this is a slight exaggeration. I didn't run out of time today; indeed I got the shots that I intended to at lunch time but they simply didn't turn out the way I had envisaged them so I need to refine my approach on those. However it is true that I lacked the time to get any of the alternatives that I had in mind, so I elected to go with that theme.

And by the way, do you know how hard it is to find an hour glass or egg timer these days? It took me about three weeks to find this one; there was a grand total of one store that I found which sold them.

Needless to say, you can expect to see this one in other shots in the future.

But if I keep doing this kind of shot, I'm starting to wonder whether I should be looking at a macro lens at some point as well.

Edit August 2023: I can't believe I didn't have one by then. The excellent Canon 60mm and the OK-ish Olympus 60mm lay in my future. I know that now, but obviously didn't then.
