This bronze sculpture of a World War I Australian soldier was created by Wallace Anderson (20 Jan 1888 to 7 Oct 1975), an official artist of World War I.
Anderson was also responsible for a lot of the dioramas that will be found elsewhere in my Australian War Memorial galleries.
The plaster cast for this sculpture was created in 1926, but the sculpture itself was cast in bronze from that cast in 1994.
It stands in the Memorial's sculpture garden.
