The second of a pair of shots. Its partner (shown on THIS LINK) used an in-focus background to give the atmosphere of a rainswept Canberra. The alternative method shown above (that of keeping the rain in focus and allowing the background to be abstract) was suggested to me by another shot that I'd seen on PBase recently which can be found on THIS LINK.

This is brilliant. What may well have been a mundane background scene has been transformed into a colourful piece of art by changing the focus. Really well done.

I like this image, maybe I’m influenced by my particular liking for rain and night photos...In all cases o do like the result of your composition and your settings. I like the abstract feeling of the background and the shining coloured night light.
