St. Paul Downtown Airport (Holman Field) is located just five minutes from the St. Paul business center and 15 minutes from downtown Minneapolis. Because of its proximity to the Twin Cities business districts, St. Paul Downtown Airport has been developed to meet the needs of corporate aviation. The airport is served by a Federal Aviation Administration air traffic control tower and has a full range of services, including several fixed-base operators. It has three runways measuring 6,711 feet, 4,115 feet and 3,657 feet. There were 125,669 takeoffs and landings in 2006. There were more than 100 aircraft based at the facility. The airport serves a number of corporations based in Minnesota and also houses the Air National Guard. Due to the proximity of the airport to the Mississippi River and other industrial development, growth is restricted, and future improvements will be limited to the corporate hangar space and development of a floodwall.
