Tower 120 Pan

For the background of how this gallery came to exist, see THIS

To expose this old roll of film, expired July 1961, I decided to work backwards
from the stated speed rating of 80asa - 80, 64, 50, 40, 32, 25, 12, or 6.
I elected 25asa, although I was tempted to try 12asa. The conditions
suggested f5.6 @1/60s, based on a reflectance reading off gray card.
I felt I would rather be under-exposed than over-exposed. As it
turned out, I could probably have survived with 40, or 12. Age seems
to have built in some generous latitude. :-)

I cut the film in two (darkroom) for development and went from 10 min.
for one clip, with pre-soak and agitation, to no pre-soak and stand
development for 15 mins. for the second clip. The second had a little
more density and contrast - perhaps a little more punch - which may suggest
that 40 asa would have been better. However, all 12 exposures would
be printable, although it would take 'a week of Sundays' to spot and clean up
each image because of adhered material, and the evidence of cosmic radiation.

I elected to use Ilford Ilfosol S, diluted 1:14, to give me some time (a fresh roll
at 25asa would have only about 5 mins in the 'soup'). I felt the benzol and the
sodium ascorbate in that formula would be useful. Also, I had some. ;-)
