There are over 260 islands in the Hong Kong Administrative Zone, several of which are quite large.
Hong Kong itself (the city) is of course one of the Islands. Many have sizable populations, and some
have sparsely populated villages. One of the nice features of the region is the ability to be able to get
away from the hustle, bustle and clamor of 'downtown'. And you can do that quickly, easily and cheaply.
Just a 45 minute scenic ferry ride takes you to quaint towns and villages, where the old men gather,
and the grandmothers watch over children while their parents are working - probably in a 40 story tower - in the city.
And of course, the chinese fast food stands are up and running from dawn, until well into the night.
There may be no food more tasty than the genuine, fresh ingredient, cooked while-you-wait chinese 'mcdonalds'.
