Aglow

Hampton Plantation, South Carolina

The second of the images I made of this cloudless-sky, bright 11AM sunlit forest floor.

The forest was glowing, and there was so much to consider. I usually crop in-camera.
But I confess I am at 6s and 7s* with this composition. This is the whole negative
scan. Should it be a rectangle? Should it be square. Square, leaving off the dark LH tree
looks fine, but I like that tree holding my LH image boundary. I know I must keep
the foreground with the shadows and rivers of sunlight. What do YOU think, dear viewer?

(* if I were Chinese, I would be at 7s and 8s. ;-) )

I like it just how it is.....I have been having fun with my latest lot of paper negative work. Would love you to swing by some time....am building a few sliding box cams....

the rectangle for sure...the dark tone of the log on the right provides sufficient balance. I like squares but not here......beautiful forest view....V

What ever quandary you felt you had, you worked it out very well. It was worth the angst.
