Graflex 22 Oak 4 (The Flame)

Mount Pleasant SC

Another of the test images from the Graflex 22 Model 200 TLR.

Best viewed in Original Size.

Truth is, I was totally drawn to the apparent 'flame' shaped lines of these tree branches.
It would have been nice to have a deep orange filter for this image (hard to find a
push-on of this diameter anyway) because there are some nice clouds in the 'flame'.
In printing, I may try to burn in this area. But I'm happy as it is. We take what we get.

Can't complain about this old camera body, and its (under rated) Wollensak 1950's lens.

Beautiful composition. I like it as it is, but I agree that an orange filter would be a great asset for this type of shot.

Very nice shapes indeed! And a lot of detail and I like the big size here! BV

Very nice frame.
The different shapes and textures work very well together.

Great composition. Love the tones. There's a transition in the three trees, almost like a diminishing in time.

This old camera and B&W film does a wonderful job on this subject. Personally I don't mind the blown out sky. The tree shapes are enough for me. ~V~

You don't waste any time running them through the riggers.

I love the feeling I get while under a huge tree and I get it looking at your photo.
As you say the sky of the flame might need a bit of burning but over all what a great photo from this camera.
