I broke my own rules here and did not carry a tripod into this particular field.
Shooting a Yashica D TLR handheld, in the tree's shade, caused me to keep a shorter
shutter speed and therefore a bigger aperture, with consequent loss of sharpness and DOF.
However, I think the trunk deserves to be seen, even if the image is second rate.

Neopan 400 exposed at 320, developed in Ilfosol 3, 1+9,
for 6 mins at 20C after a water presoak for 1 min.

A first rate image. the tree which commands attention is sharp and it is fine that the background does not interfere

Who said all things must be sharp and in focus? In this case less depth of field could help to draw more attention to the tree with a complete blurred background. Just a thought, still a nice shot
