I remember this assignment. We had to plumb the depths of the
shadows, using still life objects. I recall that my teacher was more
taken by the 'bokeh' of the reversed Tessar than he was with the
'plumbing'. Nevertheless, I have always liked the translucent petal
and the reflector-board induced controlled shadows of this image.

Tech Note:
At close distances, good depth of field is always tough.
Small variations can throw important lines out of focus. Add
the low speed of the shutter required of the early Kodachromes
- 25asa - and the slightest breeze can cause big problems. The
same applied with Kodak Panatomic BW, when I exposed it at 10asa.
Yes, one zero. 10. Now digital cameras perform wonderfully well at
6400asa and upwards. Is there no decency anymore. ;-))))) hide exif
