A species of palm trees bears fruit called lontar. There are 3 segments of the fruit that contains fruit flesh similar to coconut buried inside inedible fruit matrix. Using a very sharp knife, the vendor has to peel the inedible fruit matrix away, leaving only the sweet and juicy part of the fruit. The inside of the fruit contains a small amount of sweet liquid. A tedious work. To be honest, I have never seen a lontar plant before. Even if I did, I wouldn't know.
