Funny how folks show themselves overenthusiastic about what are, in fact, cityscapes taken long ago, and nothing more. They are not spectacular in any way - not even the artsy things at the end of the series. Interesting, the lot, for the nostalgic ones, perhaps, old or young, no matter, and those who lived in those times and are still around to chat with acquaintances and grandchildren. But that is quite little, isn't it? Now that we've got to this, the question arises, Who took this stuff? In other words, who is the copyright owner? Are they family pictures, as those in the other galleries of yours? This other question pushes itself to the surface, too: Why share intimate stuff, such as, for instance, wed and household pics, ON THE FREAKIN' NET?

One of the best galleries I have ever seen, what a wonderful city, it seems to have as many beautiful buildings and monuments as Paris back then. Definately gets my vote. Excellent work, I am curious though, as to where you got these photos from because to take them you'd have to be at least in your mid-60's. Great work once again, really wonderful. Multumesc foarte mult. Esti foarte generos. Indraznesc, sa sugerez sa completezi colectia, daca ai timpul si rabdarea necesara, cu fotografii ale Bucurestiului in prezent. Chiar si cele ingrozitoare pot reprezenta un patrimoniu important, conform zicalei:"Cine uita istoria, risca sa o repete." Cu stima, Elena Gugu

This is an amazing gallery, Adrian! It got me from one exclamation to another while browsing it. I am too young to have a direct experience of the world around the WWII, but I can definitely feel the atmosphere of that time and place emanating from the views here. How did you take these pictures? Were they on film and you scanned/digitized them?... This should definitely be one of the well known galleries, it really deserves it! It got a very big vote from me. :) Magda.
