The Negev Desert

One of my favorite sites of photography, hiking and going on a short vacation is the Negev desert

in Israel. Its myriad hidden gems are countless, always surprising with new fantastic discoveries, even to those

who think they have seen all of its treasures. In this gallery (April 2009), there are images from Mt. Karkom, a prehistoric site

rich with stone carvings and Paleolithic sites of worship. This mountain is considered by some renowned archeologists as the holy site of

Mt. Sinay, where Moses has been given the Tables of the Covenant and the Torah for the people of Isreal.

There are also images of the Nizana rock curves, the dunes of Nachal Lavan, the historical Nabatean city of Shivta and more.
