You have some good pics of the comstock bridge off rte 16, do you know they are moving it. Yes right off the river into the park lot to repair it. See channel 3 news for pics.

Fred Parsons thought you might be interested in my "Covered Bridge" gallery. It's a new construction under way in NW Ohio.

Alan - I used the 200mm 2.8 at MSG. I was way up there and I personally feel the lighting at MSG is weak, unless you are at ice level. Would have loved to use my flash, just didn't want to blind the paying fan.

Continental Arena on the other hand is bright, I just have not tried it there yet. The NJD pics you see on my site are from South Mountain Arena where they practise in West Orange, NJ.

BTW, awesome site you have there. Take care, Mike

Dear Alan,
I just returned from my 25th Princeton Reunion and did a bit of shooting with my Canon 20D. Did a search on Princeton photos in pbase and came up with your gallery. I wanted to compliment you on your composition and angles. Some of those buildings are so large they're not easy to capture... you did a nice job. - MSafran www.pbase.com/marcs

Hey Alan,
Thanks for the message in my galleries.
Somewhere in my archives (film, not digital) there ARE most likely, photos
of Garden State Bowl in all it's glory.
It served as sort of a home away from home for me (you too?).
Contemplating hitting NJ for the CHS reunion later this year (it would
be my first one) for the nostalgic docu-drama photography opportunity.
What's new in 35 or so years...?
Regards,
- Dan Chusid

Panorama Factory (web site www.panoramafactory.com). Costs about $30 or so (don't recall exactly), and it does a great job, if a little slowly. No, I never bothered making any corrections for barrel distortion.

Thanks for your comments.

Thanks Andrew! The frame is just a drop-shadow I created in Corel PhotoPaint. If you're looking for PS actions to do frames, I know they're out there, but can't really help you find them since I'm not running PS (yet).
Guest 27-Mar-2002 02:08
Great gallery! I love the frame for the Washington Monument. Is this a PS action? Did you create this frame yourself?

Thanks very much for your reply.

If it would not be too much trouble I would be most appreciative if could you post a few unprocessed images of the pictures from your Central NJ gallery, just so I could see the difference (say Lamington River, Tewksbury Tree and the two churches).

For your info the following two images are untouched from the 6900 and 505v and the 505v shows more detail and has the same snap as your pictures (see the detail on the lady's lips).

http://www.imaging-resource.com/PRODS/F505V/F55FADP1.HTM
http://www.imaging-resource.com/PRODS/F6900/F69FACAP0.HTM

Thanks once again for your help.
Alan Hartmann30-Oct-2001 17:56
Well I've never considered the F505V to be very good with auto-focus. OTOH, I typically don't post the out of focus shots. :-) The "snap" probably comes from the unsharp mask I routinely apply when I resample for uploading to pbase. I do all my retouching, then save the TIFF's to a new directory. Then I run QImage and resample to 800x600, applying unsharp mask with radius=1 and percentage = 80 or 90.

Thanks for your comments!

Alan
GC 30-Oct-2001 07:49
I'm looking at the 505 and the Fuji 6900, but I find that the 6900 images I've seen are always slightly out of focus (the odd one is in focus) and was wondering if you do some extra processing since your images have so much snap to them (they're excellent by the way).

If you have a moment I'd be most grateful for a reply.

Thanks.
