CANEPA DESIGN Kenworth Cab-Over 2-Car Transporter Motorcoach, sold at $140,000

This 2 car transporter was designed and built by Canepa Design as a luxury coach providing quality, durability, utility and comfort. Starting with a K100 Kenworth Cab-Over tractor, the vehicle was converted to have all the amenities of a luxury motor home, and is licensed as a motor home, so it does not require a Commercial Drivers License. There are two twin beds, located in the cab. Living space includes a custom built-in sofa with ample storage compartments under cushions, a removable table, built-in TV/VCR/Radio and microwave. Euro designed cabinetry with hidden hinges, positive latches and radius corners. There is a water pump and water heater for the sink in the bathroom with toilet and plumbed for an optional shower (not installed). There are fresh water fill spouts and black water dump holding tanks for water management. HVAC is a Sanyo unit with thermostatic remote control. The 7-KW generator has a sound suppression system installed; there is a shore power hook-up coupling, and an interior starter switch.

The car carrying portion of the transporter is a 34’ steel framed van box, with aluminum single sheet roof, and hardwood flooring. The two level car storage has an adjustable second level in 4” increments to allow for a taller vehicle. It is 16’ long with two 8’ sections. Loading is made easy with a Canepa designed 6000 lb lift gate, with foldout diamond plate extension that can load both top or bottom levels. There are flush floor mounted, and side mounted E tracking with couplers top and bottom to secure vehicles. AC & DC power sources (12 volt/DC and 220 VAC) run throughout the storage area, as well as lighting for upper and lower sections.

There are many accessories built in, including belly boxes for storage on both sides, 6 vacant, 6 occupied by coach accessories, a Canepa design awning that measures 44’ x 27’ with zippered side curtains, drop down door with steps and hand railing to access the vehicle storage and interior living space, and an interior access ladder w/trap door hatch to access the top observation deck. In the storage boxes there is a 30 gallon air tank with compressor, and a not installed auxiliary 75 gallon fuel tank with all components, and meets DOT MC406 standards. Also included are tie down belts, steel working cables, and all hospitality curtains and components.

This transporter has been used to transport vintage cars to events only on the west coast. It has been kept in heated and secured facilities when not in use. It has always been serviced by Kenworth, and completed files of service, and inspections are available.
