I have second degree burns on my left forearm and thigh and am treating it with Silvadene cream. The wounds are scary looking as they progress and dead skin is debrided off. Your pictures of your wound as it progresses are very helpful as I begin the process of healing. Thank you for posting them!

There are not that many easily accessible diaries of burn wound healing on the web. Yours is a valuable contribution to those who study burns and those who have them, or who have loved ones with burns.

I note the delays and complications impeded your healing progress, and wanted to ask - Were you immediately referred to a burn center? Your third degree burn would have qualified you for specialized treatment. When assessing your wounds, did they first use Doppler scanning to assess burn depth? Did they use a waterjet device to do any of the debriding, and what kind of sharp debridment was done? What sort of surgeon managed your care? A burn specialist or more generalized surgeon or plastic surgeon? What sort of dressings were employed in your case? Did they use sivladene, petroleoum, hydrogel, alginate bandages, or medical-grade honey?
