July 6

Why can't I get a decent image of a full moon?
Today's PAD shot qualifies as an "Instant Mulligan".
I WILL find out the proper techniques for a sharp moon.....someday.

Canon EOS 5D
1/60s f/6.3 at 500.0mm iso50 full exif

other sizes: small medium large auto

It happened to me when I was shooting the moon with my 70-200mm + 2x extender on a tripod. I increased the DOF by closing the aperture to F8 or F11 at least. The iso can be a bit higher than 50 if the shutter speed is too slow (but the moon itself is bright enough to use speeds that avoid blurring due to rotation of the moon and of the earth). That should to the job (I suppose your lens is on a tripod and you are using a remote control with the mirror lock-up). Sometimes the autofocus does not work wel but you can do it manually.
