Nerodia sipedon
(Northern Water Snake)

Narrows of the Harpeth State Park

Beautiful patterns but a bit startling when wading ;-)

This was my assistant while taking a picture of Cindi
during our outing to Narrows of the Harpeth
State Park while she and her friend Jennifer were on
their way through going east today. What a pleasure!

More to come later.

Superb capture. As I get older I find snakes and reptiles less scary and more intriguing

Ouch, be careful Scott and do not do it with the wide angle!

Sweeeet snake; what a beautiful pattern ~ are these non-venomous? It appears such from his rounded pupils... Anyways, I love it ~ Neat capture

It doesn't have a triangle shaped head... so it is likely not poisonous... but I would not test it.

Don't much like snakes or reptiles of any description.
Nice shot, I couldn't have taken it or maybe with a 700mm lens.
