Seen Better Days

December 23

Kingston Springs, TN

A scene that strikes the core fear in each of us. As the
seasons shift and temperatures drop, we begin heating our
homes and lighting for holidays. This family suffered a
loss in the home and community that they had just moved in
to and begun to become a part of. Back around Thankgiving,
with a child sleeping upstairs, the father heard a strange
crackling sound that he at first thought was something drop-
ping on the roof. He soon realized it was a chimney fire.
He rushed up and grabbed his young son and got him out and
returned to put the fire out. It was too late. The fire
spread from the chimney through the rafters of the A frame.

A family in a new home living in a new community. Community
is the key word. Through this experience, they have come to
know that they are a part of that COMMUNITY. No situation
that you would want anyboby to have to go through, But there
are often "silver linings" to most grey clouds in life.

As we quickly approach Christmas, I want to thank this Pbase
community for the on-going gifts you give me by sharing your
vision, talent and ability along with your suppport. Thanks!

Interesting processing, especially as the house, in the reflection looks complete,
glad the community came together for this,

All the best for Christmas to you and your family

Without friends, family, and a community, we have nothing. Possessions
can be lost but the spirit of belonging endures all. We are all wealthy
as long as we have a sense of belonging.
Merry Christmas to you and your family. Merry Christmas to our PBase family.

Love the post processing to emphasize the terrible story.
Community is something we all take for granted and appreciate one we realize.
All the best to you and yours.

You got me teary-eyed here, Scott.
My heart goes out to them and it doesn't surprise me that you are a part of another
great community.
Merry Christmas to you, April, Ellie and baby.
