Headwaters

September 10

Western North Carolina

Wandering off Highway 107 across Bull Pen Road (unmarked gravel road) back
toward Highlands through the Ellicott Rock Wilderness is a true wilderness
adventure dipping within about a mile of the NC/SC/GA corner boundary. The
headwaters of the Chattooga River form in this Savannah River Basin running
through the Nantahala National Forest. As Bev pointed out, it appears to
be a head turned slightly sideways and down as if sad.
