"A"-B&W layered and adjusted with Levels "Soft Light" Adjustement layer.
"B"-Layered image with Watercolor Artistic Filter applied. (Brush detail set @ 9)
"C"-"A" Inverted and Brightness/Contrast adjusted (-5,10)
"D"-Curves Adjustment Layer creating a "W" formation in the curve.

I'm hoping to see Will mid-afternoon. I'll update later this evening.

Nice job. There are many things you can do in PS that only require some time and experimentation.
