Ruby in Her Crown

Roadside in Pegram, TN

One of my favorite native perennials, Queen Anne's Lace (Daucus carota)
is a long-lived showy beauty gracing roadsides and pastures throughout
the summer. The little ruby bloom on the middle is often overlooked.

I've always known this beauty as Queen Anne's Lace; with the red spot being where she pricked her finner while lacing the flower... Just my POV.
Exquisite details, Scott. This is my 2nd favourite flower & much missed down here in the zoo.
