Honky Tonk Row

March 11

Nashville, TN

The view of old and new. Lower Broadway (from 1st to 5th Aves.) has
historically been the home of Nashville's famous honky tonks. Many
dreams have come true or been crushed here.

NOTE: I manually merged and blended these three images into one.

Another:

Canon EOS 1D Mark II ,Canon EF 17-40mm f/4L USM
1/1600s f/10.0 at 17.0mm iso1000 full exif

other sizes: small medium large original auto

All I can say is that I had a great time here!
I only wish this was even a little bit wider! It's a tough pano tho' with all the "moving parts". :)

Is it always this busy? or was something going on? Another great shot.

Ah, the past and the future. Nicely seen and captured.

I think Laine is correct when commenting that it a surreal feel to it. Perhaps it comes from the lower and much older brick buildings in the FG and the bright, tall glass and steel structure in the GB. Beautiful pano Scott and the mix of the old and the new is a nice feature. Very nicely done.

However the skyline does sadden me!

"Close up the honky tonks
lock all the doors
Don't let the one I love
go there anymore

Close up the honky tonks
throw away the key
then maybe the one I love
will come back to me"

Nice job of blending.
I have stood on that corner waiting for the light to change many times.
Fortunately, none of my dreams centered on Music City.
I couldn't carry a tune in a backpack.
