I have been playing around a good bit for the last several months with Adjustment
Layers and blending. I am really enjoying the control Adjustment Layers offer in
normal processing and the creative twist it gives me for artistic presentations.

Yes, I agree, adjustments layers are a must. This is a stunning image. The range of tones here are outstanding. I suspect the original looked ordinary, but the finish here brings out the beauty of the composition. I might crop a bit off the bottom. Well done.

This is a perfect scene for sepia. The bare branches against the sky give a very dramatic feeling.
